Cinco de Mayo is an interesting little holiday. Some people mistakenly believe that it is Mexican independence day. But it actually celebrates the Mexican victory in the battle of Pueblo. It is actually more of an American holiday. Americans contributed weapons and supplies to the Mexican forces. As with all holidays, the liquor industry has tried the monetize it. But this celebration at San Diego City College was pretty laid back. There were Mexican Dancers, a scholarship contest, vendors, and of course Mexican food.
